Sunderland thief stole vodka and beef, and seven other criminals who ended up in court

The following cases have been dealt with at Sunderland Magistrates' Court.

Lee Graham, 41, of Fontyne Place, Stanley, pleaded guilty to the theft of vodka and beef valued at £204.98 from Morrisons on December 5, and, jointly with Michelle MacLean, of a theft of £453 worth of fragrance from Debenhams in Sunderland on December 11.

He was fined £100 and was told to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £20.

Michelle Maclean, 34, of Fontyne Place, Stanley, admitted the theft of, jointly with Lee Graham, stealing £453 worth of fragrance from Debenhams on December 11.

She was fined £100 and was told to pay victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £50.

Dawn Swindles, 45, of Wordsworth Avenue, Houghton, admitted the theft of £710 worth of goods from the Post Office/Costcutters in Houghton Road, between June 12 and June 14.

She was given a 12-month community order with 60 hours of unpaid work. She was also told to pay compensation of £300 and costs of £50.

Benjamin Appleby, 24, of Scoresby Close, Southwick, admitted resisting a police officer on August 10.

He was fined £80 and was told to pay victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £50.

Jamie Eves, 41, of Park Place East, Ashbrooke, admitted dishonestly receiving a stolen television worth £500 belonging to Sunderland Masonic Hall, on or between October 20 and October 21.

He was fined £100 and was told to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £50.

Michael Foster, 39, of Davison Terrace, Southwick, admitted the theft of £1,145 of beauty products from a Nissan Juke parked in a Southwick street on January 4.

He was sentenced to a 12-month community order with a two-month tagged curfew between 8pm and midnight.

He was told to pay compensation of £150.
