Last season’s Second Division champions had a bit too much for Stella as star man Jonny Roberts scored a treble before Mark Young saw red for the visitors.

Gavin Teasdale’s well-taken brace gave Stella a lifeline, but Carter and Rowntree increased Colliery’s lead. Liam Alexander and Shaun Spoors kept Stella interested, but Joe Williamson’s late strike clinched a 6-4 Colliery win.

Myers recorded a fine 3-1 Second Division victory against Board Inn, who have had a good run recently.

Richardson, Smith and Crossley did the damage, though Dan Pearson gave them a helping hand as he saw red after giving Board Inn the lead.

David Laing’s double set Millfield Oddies on their way to a precious 4-1 Third Division derby win over Millfield Free Gardeners.

Paul Maw and an own goal doubled their advantage before sub Ryan Giles slotted home a consolation.

Penshaw CC and Ryhope served up a 4-4 thriller.

Kris Kane hit a hat-trick for Penshaw, backed by Liam Jordan, but Ryhope rescued a point thanks to Middlebrook, Nelson, Jackson and Matty Frost.

Wear United scraped a great 3-1 win over rejuvenated Lakeside SSC.

Sam Wade bagged a glorious double and star man Stephen Keogh made certain with his goal. Ben Collier replied in vain.

TC Plastics took advantage of a weakened Hendon Athletic side to hit them for six in the Total Sport Challenge Trophy.

The damage was done in the first 45 minutes as Hendon couldn’t compete with Plastics’ fitness. Farquhar (2), Tench (2), Powell and Robinson fired past star man Chapman in the Athletic goal.

Ashbrooke Sports Club were cruising 2-0 up, through a double from Hope-Hindmarsh, but Ashbrooke Hendon pulled one back through Prudhoe and debutant Tony Armstrong fired a late leveller to take the tie to penalties.

Hendon won 4-2 on spot-kicks.

Oddies won 3-2 at Pennywell Comrades in the Durham County Sunday Cup, with the tie having to be replayed after a mix-up in the original tie.

Comrades scored in each half, but Blackman, Herring and Anth Hammond steered Oddies home.
