Sunderland striker extends League One loan spell

Sunderland forward Lynden Gooch has extended his loan spell at League One Doncaster Rovers until the end of the season.

Gooch moved to the Keepmoat Stadium on an initial one-month loan in the January window and has subsequently made five appearances for Darren Ferguson's side.

Sunderland have now agreed for Gooch to stay at Doncaster until the summer, with the 20-year-old enjoying his first chance of regular action in the Football League.

The American Under-20 international made his debut for Sunderland in the Capital One Cup win over Exeter earlier this season.
