Sunderland rape suspect hands himself in to police

A rape suspect from Sunderland who police were trying to locate after he failed to turn up for a crown court trial has handed himself in.

Lancashire Police issued an appeal after George Hill, 68, of Portland Road, in Plains Farm, failed to appear at Preston Crown Court on April 14.

However, it has been confirmed that Hill has now handed himself in to a police station in Sunderland.
