Bright Stars Nursery was named Healthy School of the Year at the prestigious 2016 TES Schools Awards in London.

The nursery, part of Hudson Road Primary School in Villiers Street South, Hneodn, champions the importance of developing good habits from an early age and introduces children to healthy foods in a positive way.

Children learn skills as they prepare meals and snacks in the nursery’s farmhouse kitchen. Parents are encouraged to attend cooking workshops.

Nursery manager Louise Austin said: “This is a massive achievement that we are very proud of.

“Staff have worked closely with parents and children to build skills that will hopefully stay with them for life centred on being healthy.”
