Sunderland man suffers serious head injuries during fall
A Sunderland man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after suffering a fall.
The 26-year-old man had emergency treatment by teams from the Great North Air Ambulance and the North East Ambulance Service following the incident at 4.25pm yesterday.
The man was anaesthetised at the scene by the aircraft trauma team, assisted by paramedics, before being taken to RVI in Newcastle by land ambulance .
His injuries are described as severe and the man was said to be in a stable condition on arrival at hospital, where he was taken directly to a speciality treatment unit.
