Sunderland Coastguard Rescue Team was called at 12.29pm today, Friday, November 6, to a report of a boat broken down north of Sunderland Harbour

The vessel was kept under observation then towed back to its moorings at Sunderland Marina, where it was met by team members and safety advice provided.

A Coastguard spokesman said: “Boat owners are advised to ensure that their craft are always properly maintained to minimise the risk of breakdown at sea.”
