The Ladies side will play in the FA Women’s National League – Northern Premier Division after it was confirmed they had failed in their appeal to the Football Association.

With the backing of Stewart Donald, Sunderland Ladies had launched an appeal after they were unsuccessful in their bid for a place in the FA Women’s Championship.

But it was confirmed this week their appeal was unsuccessful, the former Women’s Super League side effectively suffering a two-tier relegation.

Sunderland will kick off the new campaign on August, Sunday 19 at home to Fylde Ladies. Their first away game is at Bradford City the following weekend.
