There are growing calls for the club's 18-goal top scorer to be included in the England squad that jets off to France for the summer tournament.

Defoe scored his 15th Premier League goal of the campaign in the 3-2 win over Chelsea at the Stadium of Light.

And an overwhelming 93 per cent of supporters that voted in our online poll think the 33-year-old striker deserves a call-up, with just seven per cent believing the England boss has better options.
