Sunderland city centre crime hotspots revealed

New figures reveal the addresses in Sunderland city centre with the highest numbers of reported crimes.

Sunderland city centre crime hotspots.

They are compiled from statistics available on the Home Office's Police.uk website and cover December of last year. For figures covering the rest of the city centre, click here.

Thirty-one reported offences included 10 anti-social behaviour cases and seven violence and sexual offences (classed together).
Twenty-nine reported offences included nine violence and sexual offences (classed together) and six cases of anti-social behaviour.
Twenty-five reported offences included 15 shoplifting cases and three violence and sexual offences (classed together).
Twenty-three reported offences included 20 shoplifting cases.
Nineteen reported offences included four public order offences and four anti-social behaviour cases.
Seventeen reported offences included nine violence and sexual offences (classed together) and four anti-social behaviour cases.
Sixteen reported offences included five anti-social behaviour cases, four violence and sexual offences (classed together) and one vehicle crime.

Fifteen reported offences included four public order cases and two shoplifting cases.
Fifteen reported offences included four violence and sexual offences (classed together) and four public order cases.
Ten reported offences included seven shoplifting cases and one drugs case.
Ten reported offences included two shoplifting cases, two criminal damage and arson cases and one possession of weapons case.
Ten reported offences included two violence and sexual offences (classed together) and two public order offences.
Numbers include incidents which have taken place "in the area of" streets and not just in the streets. They include inquiries which have been successfully completed, are still ongoing or have been discontinued.
Sunderland is divided into neighbourhoods to measure crime. Sunderland Central stretches beyond the acknowledged city centre boundaries. The total number of crime reports in December 2018 was 752 (690 in 2017).
