Sunderland boss Jack Ross provides positive Lee Cattermole and Adam Matthews injury update
The central midfielder, 30, has missed over a month with a foot injury and hasn't featured since the 3-0 win over Southend at the end of October.
Ross is expected to make changes for the game at the Stadium of Light and admitted Cattermole could return.

Hide AdDefender Adam Matthews will miss tomorrow's game after picking up a knock against Accrington Stanley on Saturday - but the injury isn't as bad as first feared.
The 26-year-old full-back was involved in a nasty collision at the Wham Stadium, before he was replaced by Bryan Oviedo on 17 minutes.
But after initial concerns Ross hopes Matthews will be available again soon.
"He'll be unavailable tomorrow but it's not too bad," said Ross when asked about the defender.
