The latest player linked with Sunderland is Didier Ndong of Lorient, with French newspaper L’Equipe carrying a story on his possible summer transfer.

The 21-year-old midfielder is already a Gabon international and French sources claim that as well as Sunderland, Torino, Monaco and Spartak Moscow are interested.

The youngster is valued at around £7million.

Elsewhere, Sunderland’s interest in Diafra Sakho remains, with West Ham United believed to be keen on selling the striker – at the right price.

The Senegal frontman was the subject of an £11million bid over the weekend, but claims from Hammers sources said that the offer had a number of clauses which made it less attractive to the London club.

Sam Allardyce, meanwhile, has revealed he won’t be going to Euro 16 as he’s too busy working on transfers.
