The frontman has been linked with a reunion with former Hammers boss Sam Allardyce in a deal that could be worth more than £10million.

But respected West Ham fan site Claret & Hugh have today claimed that there has been no contact between the two clubs over Sakho – or defender James Tomkins.

Meanwhile, Emmanuele Giaccherini’s agent is continuing to try and set up a permanent move from Sunderland for his player.

The 31-year-old spent last season on loan at Bologna and there had been claims he’d stay there, but Torino and Fiorentina have also emerged as potential destinations.

“I can say that something is being done, but not by Bologna. Fiorentina and Torino are interested in the man, that’s for sure,” agent Furio Valcareggi told Radio Bologna Uno.

“Of course we are grateful to the club, but we will have to make the choice that allows Giaccherini to take his football career as high as possible.”

Elsewhere, Duncan Watmore has paid tribute to Sunderland’s fans and thanked them for voting him Young Player of the Season.

“I really enjoyed the season and picking up the Supporters’ Young Player of the Year award was great because it’s from the fans and when it’s from them it means a lot more,” Watmore told safc.com.

“The fans were great throughout the season and I enjoyed my football.”
