With the Premier League season just one game old, transfer activity and speculation are mounting at Sunderland.

Sunderland manager David Moyes will do plenty more wheeling and dealing ahead of the transfer deadline.

After signing four players and showing others the exit door at the Stadium of Light, new boss David Moyes is continuing to reshape his squad.

He might have to manage without defender Younes Kaboul, one of the key men is last season's successful fight against relegation.

Watford have today been linked with a surprise move for the experienced 30-year-old.

With central defensive partner Lamine Kone's future also hanging in the balance, Moyes could have some wheeling and dealing to do.

In the absence of more new faces, the former Everton and Manchester United manager is happy to give youth a chance, as he showed on Saturday at Manchester City.

He said: "That is what you want to do, to give your young boys an opportunity when the players aren’t there because of injuries."

Meanwhile, another of the club's fringe players has today been allowed to leave.

Midfielder Liam Bridcutt has signed permanently for Leeds United for an undisclosed fee, after a successful loan spell at Elland Road last season.
