Steve McClaren to learn fate: Moyes, Rodgers and Pearson linked with Newcastle job
There were chants for the club’s head coach to be dismissed during Saturday’s 3-1 home defeat to Bournemouth.
Fans chanted “you’re getting sacked in the morning” and “Steve McClaren, you’re taking us down”.

Supporters are clamouring for a managerial change given the team’s dire run of form this season.
And out-of-work managers David Moyes, Brendan Rodgers and Nigel Pearson have all been linked with the post, while Harry Redknapp – who once turned down the United job – has been mooted as a short-term firefighter.
However, the club is yet to make a final decision on McClaren’s future.

McClaren, himself on the board, vowed to fight on after the Bournemouth result.
Asked if he would quit, the 54-year-old said: “No way. That’s for other people to decide. I don’t do that.
“I have enough experience. I’ve been through this, with chants like there has been, quite a few times. That’s the perils of being a manager, and especially of this team, this season.”

Bournemouth’s Josh King saw his 28th-minute cross diverted past keeper Rob Elliot by defender Steven Taylor and then smashed home a second 20 minutes from time to hand all three points to the visitors despite Ayoze Perez’s late consolation strike and a third for the visitors from full-back Charlie Daniels.
