St Johnstone are not happy but could this be Sunderland's new goalkeeping coach?
But St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright isn't too happy, claiming he wasn't spoken to by Ross before talks got underway.
Adrian Tucker, Sunderland's former goalkeeping coach, left earlier this month along with Robbie Stockdale as Ross reshapes his backroom staff following his appointment at the Stadium of Light.

"I’m very disappointed but I suppose nothing should surprise you in football these days," an unhappy Wright told the Dundee Courier.
"If it was me, the first thing I would do if I wanted to speak to another manager’s member of staff would be to pick up the phone.
"Jack Ross is a new manager in the game and maybe the new breed do things differently.

Wright hopes that Mathers will remain at St Johnstone, adding: "I’ve got some sympathy with Paul and can understand that he would want to speak to them but I should be the first person to know.
“I’m still hoping that Paul will stay.
“He agreed a new contract 10 days ago after interest from Dundee United, who acted with total professionalism.”
Ross has been reshaping his backroom staff since taking charge.
Former goalkeeper Tony Coton was confirmed as the club’s new head of recruitment last week and alongside Ross and assistant manager James Fowler, has drawn up a list of transfer targets.
