St Mary and St Peter's Project hosts the following activities throughout the week: Monday, 9.30am-noon volunteer gardening, 10am-10.45am feeling fit, 10am-noon card craft; Tuesdays, 10am-10.45am feeling fit, 1pm-3pm art club, 5pm and 7pm Slimming World; Wednesday , 9.30am-noon volunteer gardening, 9.30am-11am toddler group; Thursday, 10am-noon and 1pm-3pm card craft, evening bingo; Friday, 10am-noon card craft and 10am-10.45am feeling fit.

This sunday, Palm Sunday, St Mary and St Peter’s Church will hold a Eucharist at 9.30am and there will be a blessing of the palms and procession. Refreshments will be served after the service. The March Fairtrade stall at St Mary and St Peter’s will be after the Eucharist this Sunday. There will be a service of Evening prayer and benediction at 6pm

Weekly events at Humbledon Methodist Church include: Sunday worship at 10.45am; Monday, Brownies at 6.30pm; Tuesday, Weight Watchers from 6pm; Wednesday Open Door from 10.30am to 1pm, coffee and light lunches are served; Thursday Slimming World from 6.30pm.

The recent Saturday soup lunch at the Methodist Church was very successful and thanks goes to everyone for their support.

Maunday, Thursday, service with communion will be held at 6pm and Good Friday service at 11.15 am. Both services will be conducted by the Rev David Richardson. On Easter Saturday there will be an Easter tea with bonnet and competition at 3pm. Tickets are £5. On Easter Sunday, morning worship commences at 10.45am followed by communion.

Thornbury Care Centre co-ordinator Jim is to embark on his third annual sponsored walk on Saturday, April 16, starting at 10am. He will be walking from Thornbury Care centre to the Tommy statue in Seaham. If anyone can sponsor Jim on his walk, contact him on 0191 5201881 for a form. All monies raised will help Jim buy some photo equipment, film projector and screen to enhance the lives of the residents in care.
