Family craft sessions will be held today and Wednesday, April 6, from 10am-11.30am in St Mary and St Peter's Project, Enjoy a variety of activities including making Easter cakes. Cost is £1.50 per child, who must be accompanied by an adult. Contact Sarah for more information.

The Sunday Eucharist and Sunday school at St Mary and St Peter’s Church is at 9.30am followed by refreshments. Weekday Eucharists are at the following times: Mondays at 1.30pm; Tuesdays at 6pm; Thursdays at 9.30am.The next social evening at St Mary and St Peter’s is a 1960s’ night on Friday, April 22 at 7.15 pm. There will be food, quiz, raffle and bingo. Tickets are £3.50 adult and £2.50 children.

Humbledon Methodist Church hosts a number of weekly activities including: Sunday worship at 10.45am; Monday Brownies at 6.30pm; Tuesday WeightWatchers at 6pm; Wednesday open door from 10.30am-1pm, coffee and light lunches served; Thursday: Slimming World at 6.30pm.

Jim, co-ordinator at Thornbury Care Centre, is doing a sponsored walk from the centre to the Tommy statue in Seaham on Saturday, April 16, at 10am, This is Jim’s third annual sponsored walk. If anyone would like to sponsor Jim, contact him on 0191 520 1881. All money raised will help buy photo equipment, a film projector and screen to enhance the lives of the residents.

At the latest competition, Thorney Close Karate Club enjoyed the day out with students and parents having a great time. Students, pictured, had a great experience and a day to never forget, making lots of new friends and gaining awards.
