Spartan Fighting Arts Academy kickboxers make big impact in British Ring Sports Championships

The competition featured light and full contact formats of kickboxing, boxing, low kick kickboxing and K1 style kickboxing, with the Sunderland club fielding experienced and novice competitors.

Eleven-year-old Bradley Brown did not take part in any of the ring sports tournament fighting as he already had a championship bout arranged, challenging for the prestigious WKA English Full Contact title.

He duly beat his opponent over five rounds to claim the championship belt.

Zach Marshall, 13, won a gold medal in the full contact kickboxing and silver in the boxing, while clubmate Lewis Garside, 26, secured a fine gold in the K1 kickboxing.

Fourteen-year-old Ryan Dewart picked up a bronze medal in his full contact kickboxing weight division, while eight-year-old Emily Minto, from Pennywell, took home a bronze for her efforts in light contact kickboxing.

Town End Farm’s Grace Mattinson, 13, landed a silver in boxing and bronze in full contact kickboxing.

Nine-year-old Daniel Whittle, from Town End Farm, earned a bronze in full contact kickboxing, while Murton seven-year-old Lincoln Howe secured a double medal thrill – bronze in light contact kickboxing and bronze in full contact kickboxing – while his sister, nine-year-old Alexis, won a bronze in light contact kickboxing.
