Southwick Health and Community Forum has lots of activities planned from next month. Among the health initiatives on offer will be: Boxercise, healthy eating and healthy living as well as aromatherapy. Ring 0191 561 8272 for more information.The Kids Club will be meeting on Mondays and Wednesday from 3.30pm to 5pm with sessions costing £1. There are only a couple of places, and activities include arts and crafts, games, outings and a healthy snack as well as cooking.The Ladies Club meets on Wednesdays and members can enjoy a two-course meal, a chat and a game of bingo.Toddlers meets every Tuesday during term-time and sessions include messy play, singing, free play and a healthy snack for the children.

There’s lots going on at the Salvation Army next month too including the Cameo club, arts and crafts, sugar craft, kids clubs and more.

All the activities above will resume the week beginning Monday, September 5.

Red House Community Centre RAOB Pride of the Wear lodge, Dave Henderson and friends completed the Coast and Castles Cycle challenge on Saturday and Sunday, July 2 and 3, for charity. Berwick- Upon-Tweed to Roker in Sunderland (117 miles along some stunning coastlines). Many thanks to sponsors and supporters as more than £2,000 has been raised so far for Kidney Research UK, Prostrate Cancer UK and a friends grandson toward his gymnastic expenses while representing Great Britain in Gymnastics. Sponsors to thank include The Salmon RAOB lodge Berwick-upon-Tweed, NOVUS and Manchester College, Sustrans and Downey’s Fish and Chips restaurant, Roker.
