Hylton WI held a very interesting meeting this month, when guest speaker Ingrid Kilner entertained everyone with a talk entitled Behind the Veil.

Apart from the ordinary business, members were reminded of the special get together on March 14 when everyone will be celebrating Hylton WI’s 95th birthday. A three-course meal will be served to members and friends. Sandra Atherton will entertain with songs from the shows. Any members who have not put their name down for this special event and would like to attend, contact secretary Judith on 0191 534 6389.

There will be a special Mothering Sunday Service on March 6 at 10.30am in South Hylton Independent Methodist Church. Arrangements are being made for the Good Friday service at 10.30am, March 25, and Easter Praise at 10.30am and 6pm on March 27. Everyone is welcome to attend these special services. Owing to inclement weather some midweek activities had to be cancelled last week, however, they will all continue as usual from now. The ladies meeting is on every Monday afternoon from 2pm- 3pm. Fortnightly, on Tuesdays there is a Bible study from 9.30am- 10.30pm. The next one will be March 1. Guides get-together is on Thursday evenings and Friday Gang meets from 5.30pm- 6.30pm. All these meetings take place in the School Room, entrance through the red door at the rear of the church. Every two weeks at 10, Laburnum Close there is a Bible study at 7.15pm, next one is tonight and Fellowship meets alternate weeks at 7.15pm next one March 1.You will be made very welcome at any of these meetings.
