Hylton WI celebrated its 95th birthday with a special meal in the Tansy Centre. Members and guests were entertained by Sandra Atherton with songs from the shows. and president Christine Wilson and secretary Judith Thompson cut the birthday cake. Hylton WI is proud to be the oldest WI in Tyne & Wear South Federation. Members meet on the second Monday of each month in the Tansy Centre, at 7pm.

South Hylton Bowling Club is preparing for its new season, which start on April 28 running until September 3. The club plays at King George’s playing fields on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings and Thursday afternoons. New membes are welcome. There will be a special Good Friday Service in South Hylton Independent Methodist Church at 10.30am. Easter praise services will be held on Sunday at 10.30am and 6pm.

Over the next two weeks dance classes will be held on Tuesdays, tonight at 5.15pm and next week 6.15pm – 8pm and on Thursdays from 6.15 – 9.30pm. Brownies meet from 5pm-7.30pm tomorrow. Bingo will be on at 8pm on tomorrow and March 30. All these sections are part of the Tansy Centre.
