Sunderland have been linked with a move for an out-of-contract forward after failing to add a goalscorer to their ranks before the transfer window shut.

The Black Cats have struggled for goals in the first month of the season, and Lewis Grabban's hamstring injury on Tuesday night was a further blow.

Grabban is likely to be out for several weeks, leaving just James Vaughan to lead the line, starting with the game at Hull City tomorrow.

Duncan Watmore is coming back to fitness after a knee injury, while youngsters Joel Asoro and Josh Maja could also be options for Grayson.

When asked if there were any free agents available that Sunderland could sign, Grayson said: "If there is, everyone else will be looking at them as well.

"Most of the players will have been taken on already but that's not to say we're not looking around.

"But also we have to look at what we have within the group and make them better, work with the group and make sure everybody is playing to the best of their capabalities and restoring a little bit of confidence.

"Hopefully key players will be coming back and that will improve us at the top end of the pitch."
