Search for woman after she made threat 'to take her own life'

Police are trying to trace a woman who disappeared after telling a member of the public she was going to take her own life.

Durham Constabulary is looking for the woman after she was seen in Durham late yesterday afternoon.

She is believed to be in her 60s, just under 5ft tall and has short grey hair.

She was wearing a wearing a light purple, zip-up Parka-style coat and cream trousers.

The force say she was last seen on New Elvet at approximately 4.30pm yesterday as she headed in the direction of Kingsgate Bridge or Church Street.

Members of the public are asked to ring 101 with any information or possible sightings, quoting DHM-05112017-0311
