Seaham - Down Your Way

A Service of Holy Communion will be celebrated at 10am tomorrow at Christ Church, New Seaham. Stop for tea and coffee after the service. All are welcome.

The monthly lunch held in Christ Church hall will be this Friday between 11.30am and 1pm. Come along for a reasonable priced, good wholesome three-course meal, coffee, tea and share the company.

On Sunday, the third Sunday of Lent, at 10am, in Christ Church, New Seaham, Holy Communion will be celebrated and at 6pm evening prayer will be held. All are welcome to join in the fellowship.

On Sunday, Messy Church will be held in Seaham Methodist Church, Tempest Road, for all children 10 years and under, accompanied by an adult. Come along and join in some messy crafts, Play Doh, games and food. Free admission. Everyone is welcome.

Mrs R Watson and Mrs L Turner will preside at the Tuesday evening service, commencing at 7pm in Seaham Spiritualist Church, Vane Hall, Cornelia Terrace, on Tuesday, March 1. Entrance is £3.50.

The Women’s World Day of Prayer Service, an international ecumenical prayer movement, will be held on Friday, March 4, at 2pm in Christ Church, Station Road, New Seaham. Women from various countries around the world prepare the service and this year it is the turn of the women of Cuba to formulate the service. The theme, Receive me, is a reminder that everyone is equal in the eyes of God and equally worthy of love and respect. Everyone, male and female, young and old, is welcome to attend. Seaham and District Cubs and Scouts annual five-a-side football competition is to take place on Friday, March 11. Permission forms and further details available from Section Scouters.

Learning to swim in the sea of God’s love, is a Lent course to be held in Easington Deanery and led by Bishop Mark. It is a chance to learn and discuss with one another and Bishop Mark. The first of five meetings will be held on Sunday at 7.30pm at South Hetton Church hall. It is entitled Starting to get a bit wet – in the sea of God’s love.
