Seaham - Down Your Way

At 7pm this evening, Christ Church Parochial Church Council will meet in the church hall committee room to discuss church and parish affairs and to plan future events.

This evening, Mr L Henderson will preside at the evening service held at 7pm in the Seaham SNU Church, Vane Hall, Cornelia Terrace. Entrance is £3.50. All are welcome.

Tomorrow as every Wednesday, there will be a service of Holy Communion at 10am in Christ Church, Station Road. All are welcome.

Each Wednesday Rock Solid Youth Group, for seven to 11-year-olds meets in Seaham Methodist Church. New members are welcome. Contact Deacon Esther on 07572 1533791 for further details.

Seaham Methodist Church is holding its friendly monthly coffee morning and bake sale in the church from 10.30am on Saturday. There will be a wonderful selection of cakes, scones and pastries on offer. Proceeds are in support of church funds. Admission is £1, which includes a cup of tea or coffee. Everyone is welcome.

The Shaw Trust is holding a plant sale on Saturday between 10am and noon in Seaton Community Centre. Admission is free and refreshments will be available along with a tombola stall for those who feel lucky. Contact Beatrice Lewis for further information.

Services for the Celebration of Pentecost, the birthday of the Church, will take place at Christ Church at 10am and at St Andrew’s, Dalton-le-Dale, at 6pm. Evening prayer will be held at Christ Church at 6pm.

Quit smoking sessions take place at Eastlea Community Centre on Mondays from 1pm-2pm. Pop in and speak to June for more details.

Cree-ation men’s group takes place at Eastlea Community Centre every Monday from 2pm-4pm. Go along and try therapeutic art or making mosaics while having a cuppa in a relaxed and friendly environment. Ring 5812399 for more information.

Eastlea Community Centre, in association with Shaw Trust, is holding its annual garden fete on Saturday, May 21, from 10am-2pm. There will be an indoor table-top sale, outdoor garden plant sale, raffle and refreshments. Admission is free. If you would like to book a table, cost £10, ring 5812399. Donations of raffle prizes would be greatly appreciated.
