Seaham - Down Your Way

Tonight Harry O'Dell will preside at the Tuesday service at 7pm in Seaham Spiritualist Church, Vane Hall. There will be a cover charge of £3.50 on most service.

Christ Church’s monthly lunch will be held this Friday from 11.30am to 1pm in the parish hall. Prizes for the tombola are always welcome.

An evening of Film and Musical themes will be hosted by Seaham Music Academy in Seaham Town Hall, Stockton Road, on Friday at 7.30pm. Tickets are £4 and can be purchased from Seaham Town Council at the Town Hall. All funds raised will be shared between Seaham Music Academy and the Mayor’s Charity Fund, which helps to raise funds for worthwhile causes in Seaham.

At Andrew’s, Dalton-le-Dale, will be holding a pie and peas supper and raffle in parish hall on Saturday. Tickets are £5. Raffle prizes gratefully accepted. Speak to Doreen Proud or Ken Carter.

Food, Mood and Attitude is a free six-week course for people 19 years and over, delivered by an expert dietician and behaviour coach. The course will show you how to control food cravings and how food affects mood. One-to-one support will be available. The course starts on Monday, October 30, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. A total of £350 was sent to Christian Aid from Christ Church harvest celebrations and donations. Thanks to everyone who made the event such a success.

Seaham Theatre Productions is to present Dick Whittington and his Cat at Easington Social Welfare Centre on December 7, 8 and 9 from 7.15pm. At last week’s meeting, held in the fire station, Dawdon (2nd Seaham) Scouts had a very friendly and instructive session relating to the Scout Fire-fighters Badge and general fire safety rules.

The National Poppy Appeal begins on Saturday. The people of Seaham are always very generous in the support given to the Armed Forces personnel and dependents. There will be a services of remembrance at Seaham Cenotaph and Seaham Memorial, Seaham Park, on Sunday, November 13.
