Seaham - Down Your Way

Tomorrow at 7.30pm in the Naval Club, North Terrace, Seaham Branch of the Royal British Legion invites representatives of organisations in the town to attend a pre-Remembrance Parade, meeting in preparation for the parade and services on Sunday, November 13.

On Friday, November 11, a Royal British Legion Standard will be paraded outside St John the Evangelist Church with the Last Post and Reveille sounded at 11am before a short service of Remembrance is held in the church with local school children present. Members of the public are invited to attend.

Next Tuesday, November 8, R Watson and L Turner will preside at the evening service at Seaham Spiritualist Church. There is a cover charge of £3.50 on most services. All are welcome.

Seaham Theatre Productions are to present Dick Whittington and his Cat at Easington Social Welfare Centre on December 7, 8 and 9, commencing at 7.15pm. The National Poppy Appeal began on Saturday, October 29, and Poppy tins are supplied to local businesses and schools around the town. The people of Seaham are always very generous in the support given for our Armed Forces personnel and dependents, past, present and future. Last financial year Seaham contributed more than £20,000 to the appeal. There will be Services of Remembrance at Seaham Cenotaph and at Seaham Memorial, Seaham Park, at 11am, on Sunday, November 13. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Services at Christ Church, Station Road for Sunday are: Holy Communion at 10am and evening prayer at 6pm. At 10am on Wednesday a short service of ‘said’ Communion will be held. Everyone is welcome to go and join in the fellowship.
