Thank you for all who supported in any way Christ Church Christmas fair. The amount raised for church funds was £1,087.12.

Tomorrow at 7pm there will be a service at St Andrew’s Church, Dalton-le-Dale, to celebrate St Andrew’s Day. All are welcome to attend.

Services at Christ Church, Station Road, for Sunday are: Holy Communion at 10am and evening prayer at 6pm. On a Wednesday there is a short service of Holy Communion held in Christ Church at 10am followed by tea, coffee and a chat, subject to funerals. Everyone is welcome to go to services and join in the fellowship.

Christ Church Mothers’ Union will hold its annual Nine Lessons and Carol afternoon, with refreshments to follow, in the church hall on Monday, December 5, at 2pm. Members of all the women’s church groups in Seaham are invited to attend.

The Mayor of Seaham, Coun Sue Morrison, by agreement with Father Frank McCullagh, is holding Seaham Ecumenical Civic Carol Service at St Mary Magdalene’s Church, Harbour Walk, on Wednesday, December 7, commencing at 7pm. Seaham Town Band will be performing and refreshments will be served in the church hall after the service. The service is open to everyone.

The next group meeting of the Royal British Legion will be held in Seaham Angling Club on Saturday, December 10, at 2pm. Representatives from all branches are invited to attend. Contact Eddie Brown for further details on 07837 942061.

The next monthly meeting of RAFA will be held in Seaham Youth Centre on Wednesday, December 14, at 2pm. All are welcome to attend.

Two become one at Christmas, is a festive concert to be performed by In Your Face Theatre and Seaham Theatre Productions at The Mallard, Stockton Road on Friday, December 16, from 7pm. In Your Face Theatre presents Sleeping Beauty the Pantomime, in association with Seaham Town Council and Oldfields Events. The production takes place at Seaham Town Hall, Stockton Road, on Tuesday, December 22, to Thursday, December 22, at 6.15pm with a matinee on Friday, December 23, at 3.15pm. Tickets are £5 if paid in advance and £8 on the door. Dillon House, Sophia Street, the Seaham girlguiding Headquarters, can be hired for children’s parties and events. For more details, contact Miss McBeth on 5817575.

Enfield Road IM Church. Eastlea, will hold a Christmas fair and coffee morning in the church hall on Saturday between 10am and noon. There will be cakes, crafts, knitted hats, toys, books, and a baby stall where you can purchase produce and gifts. All are welcome.

The Hospital of GOD at Greatham, Seaham Day Centre, is to present a Christmas Concert in St Paul’s Church, Murton, on Tuesday, December 6, at 6.30pm. Entertainment will be provided by Durham Constabulary Male Voice Choir, Miss Ellie Dawson, and pupils from St Joseph’s RC School and Ribbon School, Murton. Refreshments will be provided. Eastlea Community Centre’s Santa’s Grotto and Christmas fair will be held on Friday from 4pm to 7pm, and Saturday from 1pm to 4pm. You can book a table for £10 per day. For more information ring 0191 581 2399.
