You run through all the possible outcomes; what happens if they score first? Will we get a red card? Do we get an injury to a big player?

And that horrible picture then springs to mind - the Newcastle dugout at full time if they manage to do the unthinkable.

Then you look at the positives, will "Rafael beneath us" know what's hit him when the game starts, Sam Allardyce will want to win this more than most and the Mags will be praying we don't make it seven in a row. They will be nervous.

I constantly try to remain positive, think only good thoughts, but then I question it as being too cocky and confident. Should I be more pessimistic and be prepared for the worst?

Whatever the outcome we are all playing through our minds, one thing is always consistent; our passion and absolute obsession with winning this game.

If that is drilled into the 11 lads wearing the Sunderland shirt on Sunday it will be mission accomplished.

It will be tight, it will be nip and tuck, there might even be a few bad moments to live with but it will be a game the old enemy think they have a better chance of winning than previously and that's a dangerous mistake to make, they could turn on their team.

Sunderland fans are too long in the tooth for being able to predict how we will play but we also know the feeling of winning a derby in recent times better than they do.

It's time for a hero to step up and I don't care who it is, as long as they are in a Sunderland shirt.
