Sad to hear of Ted's death

I was very sorry to read of the death of little Ted Reah in the obituary columns of the Sunderland Echo recently.

I say ‘little’ because Ted wasn’t very tall, but what he lacked in inches he certainly made up with in his character.

As resident compere at the former La Strada Night Club in Fawcett Street in the 1970s, he was a real gentleman and always had the time for a friendly word on arrival.

And who can forget the silken tones of his voice as he sang the famous songs of Frank Sinatra.

Indeed, if you closed your eyes, you could almost think you were listening to the great crooner himself.

Thanks for the memories Ted (alias Eddie Angel).
