A road was closed in Sunderland this afternoon after a two vehicle accident.

A Mercedes and a Skoda collided in Burdon Lane close to the junction with Thomas Street.

Emergency services attended the scene, with one person receiving treatment from paramedics.

The road was closed while debris and spilt fuel were removed.
