Road closed after burst water main

A burst water main has closed a road in County Durham.

Durham Constabulary have confirmed that the northbound side of Newcastle Road in Chester-le-Street is closed between the junction with North Burns and Pelaw Bank as a result.

The force is advising drivers to find an alternative route as the road is likely to remain closed for a while.
