Budget supermarket Lidl has been forced to recall bags of potato wedges after a labeling error failed to mention a potential allergy risk.

The chain has recalled bags of Harvest Basket Potato Wedges as the package fails to declare in English that the product contains the allergen gluten.

The affected packs are 750g bags of Harvest Basket Potato Wedges with a best before date of 18/04/18 with a Lot Code of L6108 only.

No other Harvest Basket products are affected.

A statement from the company said: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to wheat (gluten), do not eat it. Instead, return it to a Lidl UK store for a full refund.

Any customers with queries or concerns can contact Customer Services on 0370 444 1234.”
