Simon John AYRE (Conservative Party)

As a Nurse Practitioner, I’ve been on the frontline throughout the pandemic – including administered the COVID-19 vaccine.

I began my nursing career in Hendon and now I’m seeking to serve the community as its councillor.

Looking at the vaccine situation in the EU, I have never been more pleased to have voted for Brexit.

Our world-leading vaccine programme will secure our freedom for years to come.

During the pandemic I also delivered food parcels to vulnerable residents. I’ve also led litter picks, campaigned for more rat baiting, and organised meetings with the police.

I hope Hendon residents will support me to continue to support them

Helmut IZAKS (Green Party)

I have lived in Sunderland since 2004.

I am involved in various local organisations working for disability and LGBTIQ rights.

I have become concerned about the negative and personalised attacks in both national and local politics.

I don’t believe that people should be bullied or humiliated for expressing political views.

We need to learn to listen to, and disagree with, one another with respect if we are to build a happy and sustainable society.

As a Green councillor, I will work with others for the common good and pledge to clean up politics so that it is accessible to all.

Martin MOORE (UKIP)

Being a secondary teacher of 10 years standing, I understand the need to promote balanced viewpoints.

What I see happening in mainstream politics now concerns me.

Freedom of speech is under attack, our elected officials are behaving like a corrupted ruling class rather than paid civil servants, and the dishonesty of the media means we are constantly bombarded with misinformation that disarms people in making informed balanced decisions.

I will of course work tirelessly to represent my local constituents with their daily issues and local needs, but I will also take a stand against corruption and political correctness whenever possible.

Dale Michael MORDEY (Labour and Co-operative Party)

Hendon Ward is my home, it is where I was born and raised, and it is where my family will grow up too.

I am standing for re-election – because although there are some exciting things happening in our area and across the City – there is still so much work that I want to get done to make Hendon Ward a better place for us all to live.

I’ve worked my socks off tackling the issues that matter to you from cleaning up our streets and back lanes, to reducing the number of empty properties to making our streets safer by tackling crime and anti-social behaviour.

A vote for me in this election is a vote for a councillor with strong values, local roots and record of putting people first, fighting for and delivering investment in Hendon, the East End and Grangetown.

I respectfully ask for your support on May 6.

Ciaran Joseph MORRISSEY (Liberal Democrat)

From pest control, fly-tipping, and antisocial behaviour to councillors’ expenses, transparency, and accountability, I have always stood up for the issues that matter and kept residents informed.

Unlike other candidates, I kept in touch throughout the lockdown and ensured no one in our community was isolated or forgotten.

Only the Liberal Democrats work hard all year round to help our community and solve its problems.

This election is a two-horse race between me and our Labour councillor.

Hendon deserves better than Labour and I am the only candidate who can beat them.
