Tony has lived in Sunderland all his life.

He started his working life as a nurse on the coronary care unit of Sunderland Royal Hospital.

He then moved to working in funeral services where he is still employed today.

He is very passionate about his work.

He has huge enthusiasm for helping people and is well known for his generosity.

He sits on the committee of the Tansor Centre as well as assisting residents with benefits claims.

Tony said: “I would like to do more for the community.

“I am particularly interested in improving neighbourhood safety, tackling anti-social behaviour, creating more educational opportunities and encouraging new business to reduce unemployment and bring greater wealth to the area”.

Make Sunderland better.

Allen CURTIS (Liberal Democrat)

I want to work with the community to fight for improvements to Castletown, Hylton Castle and Town End Farm.

The council takes the area for granted and think they know what is best – but they are failing to fix the basics like repairing roads and pavements, tackling fly tipping, cleaning our streets, clamping down on dog fouling, improving CCTV coverage, working to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and investing in our green spaces and youth services.

Like many people I want more opposition voices on the Council to shake things up.

The Lib Dems on Sunderland City Council have been the loudest political force over the past few years – campaigning to cut allowances and expenses, and to protect basic services.

If you want a change to the current council who waste our money and don’t listen to local people vote Liberal Democrat on Thursday, May 6.

Many residents of the Castle ward will be looking to vote for a party that supported Brexit.

As these voters consider whether to vote for the Conservatives or UKIP, I hope that you will choose to put your trust in me.

The Conservatives locally are standing on a platform of getting the basics right.

That means dealing with missed bin collections, cleaning the streets, offering free residential pest control, and preventing fly-tipping through major CCTV investment.

These elections are not just about national issues but local ones.

Denny WILSON (Labour Party)

I have lived in Castletown all my life and my wife Joyce is from Hylton Castle.

My Children and Grandchildren all live here, as do many friends and many other relations.

So I have a personal stake in wanting Castle Ward to be as good as we can make it.

Over the years I have played a leading role in bringing in many millions of pounds to make our community a better place to live.

Following the Castle restoration, we now need to restore the Chapel and improve the Dene.

I have raised many thousands of pounds for local groups and helped many hundreds of residents with various personal issues.

I have worked with lots of children and young people over many years through my involvement with Castletown Scouts.

Residents want Castle Ward to be Safer, Cleaner and Greener.

So we will be installing more CCTV cameras, Increasing Enforcement and improving our green spaces.
