Fifteen pictures that tell the story of Boris Johnson and the Cabinet's Brexit Day visit to Sunderland
The Prime Minister chaired a meeting of the Cabinet at the National Glass Centre, to mark Brexit Day today, Friday, January 31.
Sunderland’s referendum result was the first hint that the pundits had got it wrong and the UK would vote Leave on June 23, 2016.
The Prime Minister visited the University of Sunderland’s Institute for Automotive and Manufacturing Advanced Practice before meeting members of the public, including school pupils and apprenctices.
And he toured the centre, on the banks of the Wear, even taking the time to try his hand at glass-blowing.
The UK will formally leave the EU at 11pm.
