Echo readers show overwhelming support for extension to UK's coronavirus lockdown - this is what you said

That’s the message from the Sunderland community, which has shown its support for an extension to the coronavirus lockdown measures in the UK ahead of an expected review this week.

At time of writing, more than 4,200 people had voted in our online poll – with 94% revealing that they supported the UK’s lockdown, imposed by Prime Minister Boris Johnson in March, continuing.

Scott Griffin: “The only worry I have is that when we do hit the plateau as they keep talking about when looking at the statistical data, they will start to relax measures and not because they feel it's getting safer which you can't guarantee until mass testing has been implemented, but because of monetary issues.”

Desmond Middlemass: “Until there is a proven vaccine the lockdown needs to stay. I feel this is not going to happen, people will take it on themselves to go out more before you know it the virus will probably reoccur.”
