Plans for new holiday homes near a golf course have been lodged with planning chiefs.

Earlier in June 2020, Sharpley Golf Course bosses applied to build new structures at its site in Seaton, near Seaham.

This includes two “prefabricated holiday dwellings” on a site adjacent to the golf club’s existing car park.

Each building would boast a bedroom/living space, bathroom and kitchen alongside low energy lights, TV and aerial sockets and a combi boiler.

According to planning documents, the applicant is expecting to receive a council tourism development grant to bring the proposals forward.

Durham County Council is expected to make a decision on the planning application by the end of August.

Public comments can be made by writing to the council’s planning department up until Tuesday, July 14.

Planners will then pull together a report on the application for consideration before a decision is made.
