Police warning to public after medication van stolen in Sunderland

The dangers of taking non-prescribed medication are being broadcast by police following a theft in Sunderland.

At 12.15pm today, a van used to transport medication was stolen from the city's Grindon Lane.

While the vehicle has since been recovered, police have confirmed that the medication inside has been stolen.

Medformin and amatriptyline, the medications stolen, would be harmful to anyone who does not have a prescription for it.

Anyone who is offered the medication, knows where it is, or has information about the theft should contact Northumbria Police on 101.
