Police release picture of man they want to trace after Sunderland sex attack

The incident happened in Sunderland city centre near Park Lane between 3.30am and 4am on Wednesday, August 3.

Officers are keen to identify the man as he was in the area at the time and may have information that can help with inquiries.

The man pictured is described as a black male, more than 6ft tall and of athletic build.

He was wearing a multicoloured top with a red baseball cap which features a black logo on the front.

The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 373 030816 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
