Police name fatal Houghton motorcyclist as Catherine May Barclay

A woman who died following a motorcycle collision last weekend has been named by Northumbria Police.

The 41-year-old woman, who died when her motorcycle collided with a bus stop on Sunday, June 5, can now be named as Catherine May Barclay, who lived in the Stanley area of County Durham.

The Great North Air Ambulance, along with paramedics from the North East Ambulance Service, were called to a bus stop in Durham Road, East Rainton, at about 5.25pm and the woman was taken to the RVI in Newcastle.

She later died.

Police said in a statement:"Our thoughts are with her family who we will continue to support at this difficult time."
