Northumbria Police received a report of a burglary at an address on Rosemount in South Hylton at 11.27am yesterday, where around £200 to £400 was stolen.

The force believe an individual know to the victim accessed the property and stole the cash.

They are appealing for information to help with their enquiries.

A police spokesman said: “At around 11.27am yesterday, police received a report of a burglary from an address on Rosemount, Sunderland.

“An individual known to the victim is believed to have accessed the property through an unlocked door and stolen between £200 and £400 cash.

“Enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 354 300718 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
