It's thought the vehicle is a silver/grey small hatchback-type vehicle and that there were two men inside, although this has not been confirmed.

Northumbria Police now say that two men, both aged 18, voluntarily attended a police station on Sunday evening.

Inquiries are on-going and police are continuing to appeal for information.

Extra officers will continue to carry out regular patrols in the area to offer reassurance to the local community.

Any witnesses should ring Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 318 100416 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
