Police confirm missing woman, Gemma Hampton, has been found

On Monday, January 13, Northumbria Police officers launched an appeal to the public for help to establish the whereabouts of a woman they were searching for.

Gemma Hampton, 34, was last seen during the afternoon at around 2pm leaving the Cathedral View area of Newbottle with a small cream Chihuahua dog.

Her family and friends had not heard from her since and officers were urging her to get in touch.

Following the public appeal, thankfully, she has been found.

Officers have now thanked those who helped locate Gemma.

At around 10.20pm, a Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “We issued an appeal earlier today to trace Houghton woman Gemma Hampton who had been reported missing.

“After a public appeal, she has since been located and we wanted to thank everyone for sharing the appeal.”
