Police close Sunderland road after car crash

Emergency services had to close a road in the Pallion area of Sunderland after receiving reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles.

Police temporarily closed St Luke’s Road in Pallion, Sunderland shortly before 1pm on Monday, April 12 after receiving reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars.

It is understood that the incident involved two vehicles and that the road was closed while emergency services worked at the scene.

Officers who attended the crash have since confirmed that nobody was seriously injured in the incident.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: “Just before 1pm we received a report of a two vehicle collision on St Luke’s Road.

“Emergency services attended and the road was temporarily closed. Nobody was seriously injured and the road has since been re-opened.”
