Were you queueing in the darkness for your train 45 years ago?

Wembley was turned into a sea of red and white as the Roker Roar took over London.

But who remembers the long journey which went beforehand – when a legion of Wearsiders headed for London and had the best day out ever.

And Teddy went on the journey too - but does anyone know who the young fan is?

For hours, Sunderland fans left the North East in their droves – by train, coach, car and any other way they could think of.

Here are some of those supporters getting ready for what would turn out to be the biggest day in the club’s history for decades to come.
