Peterlee Sunday League: Easington CIU eye second leg of a potential treble in tonight's cup final against Seaham Knack

The First Division title favourites face Seaham The Knack in the First Division Cup final at Easington tonight (6.15pm), having won the Cyril Dunn Memorial Cup Final last week.

Two Simon Todd strikes won the Cyril Dunn Cup as Easington Southside were beaten 2-1, with Stuart Softly replying.

Premier newcomers Easington Lane WMC won through to the Tommy Burrell Memorial Cup final with an excellent 2-1 victory at Peterlee Helford United.

Jai Young and Scott Henderson did the damage, with Bradley Wear starring. Phil Hickman netted for Helford.

Murton Colliery kept up their fine form, as Stephen Turner and sub Liam Appleby saw off Shotton Comrades 2-0 to progress to the John & Pat McManus Memorial Cup semi-finals.

Turner was red-carded for a bad foul, with Matthew Jackson starring. Paul Cudlip shone for Comrades.

Leaders Dawdon Welfare Park drew 3-3 with third-top Peterlee Catholic Club in a cracking Premier Division clash.

With games in hand, Catholic are favourites to now win the title.

Liam Wintrip, Jamie Gray and sub Dave Taylor struck for Catholic Club, while Marc Ruddick, Craig McManus and Kyle Middleton replied.

Full-back John Bowes and Reece Kenney were on target for Horden CW Supporters as they beat Easington Colliery Club Mechanics 2-1, with Joshua Lincoln replying.

In the Second Division, Peterlee Hearts hammered Peterlee Central Club 7-0, sparked by a hat-trick from Matty Pattinson.

Stuart Coxon (2), Daniel Surtees and Michael Coates also netted.

Brennan Yuill’s strike proved to be enough for New Seaham Westlea to beat Acre Rigg SC 1-0 in a close-fought contest.

Jack McBeth (2), Jonathan Glenwright and Liam Wallace kept Hetton Lyons in the promotion race with a 4-0 win against Wingate Grange.

Easington Leather Cap kept up their outside hopes of a top-two place after beating Haswell Oddfellows Arms 5-1.

Sean Ryder (3), Ian Craggs and Scott Bradley struck, while Gareth Milburn hit Oddfellows’ consolation.

In the First Division, Easington CIU strengthened their position at the top after an emphatic 8-0 win against Wingate Howden.

Liam Adamson’s hat-trick was backed by Simon Todd (2), Dan Jackson, Ryan Barrow, and sub Ian Cossey.

South Hetton Cricket Club did CIU a favour when they defeated their nearest title challengers, Seaham Marlborough, 3-0, thanks to two-goal Mathew Johnson and star man Liam Houghton.

Matt Billyard (2) and Michael Taylor set up Easington Southside to defeat Seaham Parkside 3-1, with Sean Kavanagh replying. Adam Brown shone for Southside, with Ryan Savage best for Parkside.

Seaham The Knack outgunned Trimdon Royal Oaks 4-1, with Michael Wilson (2), Michael Charlton and Dave Shotton on target. Scott Goodacre starred.
