The fire started in a drawer in the bedroom of the home, with the woman and three children clearing the house after they were alerted to the blaze by a smoke alarm.

A man who also lives there was out at the time of the call out.

A burned mattress was removed from the inside of the house in the wake of the fire.

The fire service has said the cause of the incident is not yet known.
