Sam says that Lindsey is always helping other people, and that it’s now time for someone to help her, Sam said: “She’s had to stop working and go on disability and she only gets £90 a week which isn't very much.

“She needs eight rounds of aggressive chemotherapy and then will need operations.

“She does so much to help other people and I’ve been doing everything I can because I think it’s time someone helped her for a change.”

As part of the fundraising campaign, local businesses have come forward and offered donations to be used as prizes to be raffled off to the public, including Roker Rough House, Sparkles, Tesco, and local Sunderland tattoo artist Barry Crake, who gave a £200 voucher to be used in his studio Barry Crake Ink.

Sam said: “The support from local businesses and the donations we have received has been a god send.

Not long after Barry offered the £200 voucher, he got back in contact with the family and offered to do a 24 hour tattooathon.

Cosmetic tattoo artist, Barry Crake said: “We just want to raise as much money as we can.

“I think it’s important because people are suffering and there is no cure for cancer. It’s just nice to raise the funds and know that it’s going towards a good cause.”
